It’s a real treat to introduce Elatia, Decadent Publishing’s new erotic science fiction romance line. Not only that, but I have an exclusive cover reveal of all four launch titles!
This is exciting news for a few reasons. One, Elatia represents Decadent’s commitment to bringing readers more science fiction romance. Whether you go for the erotic content or not, you can’t beat the fact that they are willing to try out something new in the subgenre. They’re not just releasing more science fiction romances; they’re devoting a whole line to it.
Second, it means more story choices for readers. SFR is still niche, so every new title helps raise its visibility.
Three, Decadent chose to share the news with the science fiction romance community directly. They could have done any number of things to announce the news, but they personalized it. To me, that says they care about SFR readers.

Azura Ice writes several subgenres of romance, which includes but is not limited to het, ménage, m/m and can be set in contemporary times or even in a far away world or another dimension. Azura's muse leads her by the hand, and her fingers do the light-speed typing.
Who is Azura Ice? She's a full-time author who is owned by two crazy felines of tabby descent (although they swear they're of Egyptian lineage). Azura writes in an attic study that overlooks a beautiful valley, and enjoys her husband's company when he's permitted to enter her domain. However, if he brings offerings of coffee and an occasional chocolaty treat, she's inclined to let him in her office more often.
Azura takes her writing seriously, so she doesn't hang out on group loops (she tries to avoid shiny object syndrome), but if you'd like to contact her, interview her, etc., you can reach her at bicknellbrown@sbcglobal.net, visit her at http://ablueice.wordpress.com, or you can visit her other pen name sites at www.FaithBicknell.com and www.MollyDiamond.com. Jessica Subject started writing to encourage her daughter to read. Now she writes to keep herself grounded. Although she reads many genres, she enjoys writing Science Fiction Romance the most and believes everyone in the universe deserves a happily ever after. She lives Southwestern Ontario, Canada with her husband and two kids and loves to hear from anyone who has enjoyed her stories. Website/Blog: http://jessicasubject.com
D. L. Jackson is an award-winning writer of urban fantasy, science fiction, military romance and erotic romance. She loves to incorporate crazy plot twists, comedy and the unexpected into her worlds. As a U.S. Army veteran, she naturally adores men in uniform and feels the world could always use more. She does her part by incorporating as many sexy soldiers in her novels as she can. When she isn't writing or running the roads, you can often find her online chatting with her peers and readers. Grab a cup of iced coffee, pull up your virtual chair and say hi. She loves emails and blog visits from her readers. http://www.authordljackson.com.
Sara Brookes is an award-winning author who has always been fascinated by the strange, the unusual, the twisted and the lost (tortured heroes are her personal favorite). She is an action movie junkie, addicted to coffee and has been known to stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing RPG video games. Despite all this, she is a romantic at heart and is always a sucker for an excellent love story. Born and bred in Virginia, Sara still lives there with her husband and daughter. The entire family is owned by two cats, Galahad and Loki, who graciously allow the family to cater to their every desire.

My initial impressions of the covers:
The cover for AN UNEXPECTED RETURN takes an interesting AVATAR-style approach to the cover (actually, the guy reminds me a little bit of film actor Paul Giamatti, which works for me because I think Giamatti is totally hot). I’m anticipating some readers might give it flak, but I for one appreciate the attempt to accurately represent a hero who is clearly “Other.”
LETHAL BEAUTY has a romantic feel and I like the heroine-centric message.
COURTESAN BOOT CAMP is a little fuzzy on the SFR vibe—it could pass as a contemporary—but who knows, maybe that will bring in more readers. And the title tells me I won’t know what the heck to expect from the story, but for me that’s a good thing.
I’m crushing on the title FOREVER ACROSS THE STARS and I love the cover’s promise of a strong heroine. Lady, you can kick my butt anytime!
Happy reading!
Joyfully yours, Heather
